We played 4 games in this tournament & it could be said that we did VERY well.

Man of the Tournament - Harvey. Excellent defending, positional play & working for the team.

KEY POINTS

The coaches were very impressed with how things we have done in training have transferred to the pitch. It is, apparently, very hard to get this age group to play as a team rather than individuals - but this is starting to happen.

Passing was also pleasing as was the team keeping their shape.

We do not let many goals in. This is also a big bonus because it shows that the players appreciate the importance of defence as well as attack (which has been an important part of training sessions recently). The down side of our solid defence is that our keepers have so little to do! Sorry keepers!

This was our first time playing as a full 7 a side and we adapted very well.

Big PLUS points:
Liam's attack play - he has really grown in confidence
Josh and Hermione's tackling when they were outfield
Elliott's first goals for Greenfields

Everyone enjoyed themselves hugely and we had great parent/family support. After the games, the whole team attended at the AFCB Academy funday. Jamie even won the blind auction for a signed Cherries shirt - although Mrs D isn't as keen to have it hanging on the wall as he is!
