We started the process of forming the U6 [U7 for next season] as we had for the previous few season by holding some Free Football Fundays at Littledown.

We held Two hour long sessions on a Saturday during March. The turnout was good with well over 25 kids attending 1 or more sessions.

We had a young Manager in place [Mark Pakula] who was a Level 1 Coach, & was already involved voluntarily at the Arsenal Development at Queen Elizabeth School. He was looking to establish himself locally within the Youth Football circuit, & we felt lucky to secure his services.

 

The attendance was so big & strong at these two events that Paul Raney decided it was worth looking at doing two squads. Paul decided to undertake the Management of the Dorset Squad along with the Help of his Son Macauley who is currently an U16's player.

The football sessions resumed at the beginning of April, with the objective of sorting them into two equally balanced Squads as soon as was possible, this was eventually completed by the end of April.

 

Unfortunately due to personnal reasons Mark Pakula had to return the Midlands, & therefore one of the Parents from the BYFL Squad was quickly promoted to Manager.

Andy Pardy is also a Qualified Football Coach as well as being Head of Sport at Bmth School for Boys, so we were extreemly happy he was willing to take this role on.

 

The Squads have been training regularly now on Saturday Mornings, & a couple of extra players have been added. Neither Squad has a dedicated Goal Keeper, & will probabley run with the players taking this Role in turn. Although they train in Two Squads, the Managers are keen to have them training at the same time & place as much as possible, & a full Training Schedule has been agreed & booked for the Season, with Indoor Training available throughout Nov, Dec, Jan & February.

 

The Squads have currently entered two Summer Tournaments [Rossgarth & Bransgore], where they both put on good performances & look as though they should be able to compete well at this age.

We have 1 more Tournament at the end of August [Ringwood], & they will hopefully have some Friendlies in August.

 

A few of the players have also attracted interest from numerous Pro-Clubs.

 

All in all, we look in very good shape, & hopefully we have a good group of Players & Parents for years to come......................................
